Home Parish: St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, Spring, TX
I was born and raised in Spring, TX, and have always attended St. Ignatius Loyola. I was never involved much in any of the ministries there until junior year of high school. Until then, I was pretty involved in technical theatre at Klein High School.
My faith life was never that important the majority of my life. But, once I got involved in ministries, such as youth ministry and Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion, my faith life took off. I understood more deeply the Mass and the greatness behind the sacraments.
The call to the priesthood in my life made itself evident at a Steubenville youth conference in Alexandria, LA. I never really thought of becoming a priest until then. I wanted to go into medicine, saving people in a physical way. Little did I know I would also have the desire to save people in a spiritual sense.
Being a seminarian is a new journey with many wonderful experiences. There are many twists and turns on this journey, but there is much joy to it as well.
My favorite scripture passage is the calling of Peter out onto the water, Matthew 14:22-32. This is my favorite passage because it shows that even though the world may distract us at times and we may fall, as long as we call out, Jesus will save us.
