Home Parish: St. Theresa Church, Sugar Land, TX
Diaconate Year Parish: St. Charles Borromeo Church, Houston, TX
I was born and raised in Jasper, TX as the youngest of 5 children, three brothers and a sister. I was raised on a farm where we grow vegetables and raise cattle and honeybees. My family has always been active in parish life. Growing up, I served as an altar server and was active in my parish youth group. I graduated from Lamar University with a BA in Psychology. I have felt God calling me to the priesthood since I was in high school. After graduating from college, I spent 6 months volunteering in Honduras working at an orphanage with the Franciscan Friars. I felt drawn to the priesthood during my time in Honduras which led me into becoming a seminarian when I returned back to Houston. I entered St. Joseph Seminary College during the Fall semester of 2009. During my second year at St. Joseph’s, I served as the Student Government President. I am the first seminarian from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to graduate from St. Joseph Seminary College. I am currently studying Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary and I am enjoying learning and growing in my faith. My favorite Bible verse is, “If God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31)” Please pray for me and all of the other seminarians who are in discernment for the priesthood.
